ou can fit a larger tire, but you're not driving a truck. The bigger sidewall will make your car handle worse. The larger Diammeter will make it sit higher off the ground.

I would not go larger than a 225/50/16 if you can find that size. It will give you 0.8" more of meat on the ground.

Compare sizes here, the stock wheel specs are 16x7 +38. http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

It will fit, but it will look huge/tall. Use the calculator that I posted in my first reply. You can compare the stock size to other sizes. It will show the overall width and height, how far it will overhang the wheel etc.

You're probably better off getting some aftermarket wheels.

Do you realize what the middle number means? That's the side wall height as a percentage of the tire width. So on a 255mm wide tire, the 60 represents 60% of 255mm or 153mm. So the side wall height is 153mm high.

The stock T2 tire size is 225/50/16 IIRC. That means the sidewall height is 112.5. That's a 40.5mm smaller sidewall, or 81mm smaller overall from the 225/60/16 you suggested. 81mm is about 3 inches.

I would suggest that you stay closer to the factory sidewall height if you don't have the car lowered more than 1".

A 255 width tire (which I wouldn't suggest on a 7" wheel) should have a 40 or 45 series sidewall.

A 245 width tire (which I wouldn't really suggest but you could get away with it okay) should have a 45 series sidewall.

A 235 width tire should have a 45 series sidewall.

A 225 width tire should have a 45 or 50 series sidewall.

A 215 width tire should have a 50 series sidewall.
