Tips for Tan Convertible top

I had a Tan Canvas top done when I converted my vert to a tan combo interior. I am driving the car more then I have in the past since I recently started working in the SF Bay area during the week. By the end of the week with it sitting parked it will have this black dust/soot all over. Today it rained and my top looks like crap with this stuff stuck on it. Any one else swap to a canvas or "rag" top? If so, any cleaning recomendations would be appreciated. I was also thinking of scotch guarding it once I get it clean.

Thanks

I've been using Raggtopp protectant on my vinyl top, and they also have a canvas top cleaner & protetor.
