Make sure it can switch between two and four-stroke settings.

eh?

Any timing light will pretty much do, You dont need to go fancy with those auto advance ones. Just rent a cheap timing light or buy one. The one I picked up from autozone works perfect and only cost 30

The only reason to have a 2-stroke timing light, is when you want to accurately check the advance. If you just want to zero the timing, then any light will do.

Well i got the lite , checked timing its dead on at 750, but when i hit the gas the dam thing climes to about 1200. then when i get in the car and take off it goes down to about 750 or lower, just like it wants to die sometimes when taking off in first gear. any thoughts on what it may be. ive adjusted the idle screw, that seems to help alittle, and i have adjusted the screw with the spring on it for the butter flys, but still doing the same thing. sometimes it stays at 1200 purs just fine then it will drop when a load comes on, maybe another vacum leak??? let me know what ya think. thanks

You mean the tps sensor? you dont adjust that with a timing light. You adjust it with a check lamp and/or a ohm meter.

Once you make changes, you are shorting the initial set coupler correct?
