Timing light doesn't fire on T1

My timing light will not work when the inductive clamp is on the T1 plug. I read someplace about reversing the clamp but that didn't help either.

Does that mean that the T1 plug is not firing? Does anybody know why?

Check the T1 spark plug for wear.

Swap the two lead wires? and try again.

Better deal is this. Pull both sparkplug wire out of the bores on the coil assy. Then just barely put them inside the bores where they won't fall out.

Start and idle the engine. Then with your body not touching the car, barely pull one sparkplug wire at a time out of the coil bores. Don't need to pull it out more than a 1/8". IF you see large blue spark on each plug.........they are both firing.

There is but one coil on the LEAD coil ASSY and BOTH wires fire at the very same instant (both wires get the volage at the same instant. I don't mean to suggest theres two coils).

See how that works out for you. Also make sure the sparkplug wires are not bleeding off and sparking on the chassis.
