Are there any websites that explain how the stock ECU controlls the timing and ignition of our cars? I want to make a standalone ECU (megasquirt) but will only do so if i can find a way to get it to control the timing as well.

I have searched and realize that this is extremely difficult to do, but I'm a pretty good with programming and electronics. I also have a lot of spare time, lol. Any information would be a great help!!

 

you want the stock ignition curve? I'm not sure if that is readily available. You can create your own. I use the haltech E6K which allows you to program your own ignition curve. Go to the EMS section of this forum and see what some people are using as far as how soon the ignition advance takes place, max advance RPM, etc...
