Timing and Idle
In a nutshell, I swapped a motor into my 86 gxl from an 88. It turns over, even runs when you're on the gas...we got it to idle at 3k rpm and now it wont idle at all. I have hunch since when the engine was out I was playing with the main pulley and may have offset the timing. I dont know how any of that CAS or anything works though and my internet time is limited...I have to go to a lan center. Some other info for you is its bareblocked, ported tb, no ac or powersteering. any help appreciated but please please help me out....its embarassing coming up to a light having to heal-toe and even worse is its just so goddamn loud. if someone helps me I'll give them my straight through, gutted cat paired with a magnaflow exaust. whoever it goes to will handle shipping juist please help me asap or even call me 702-235-2982. my name is dane btw
thanks
thanks

The timing wont be off unless someone playd with the CAS. Moving the pully will move the CAS with it. If I understand right your car will not idle and you have to keep the gas applied. You say you have a moded TB. Have you adjusted your TB correctly? Checked your TPS for proper working order and set it? I think you may have a masy VAC leak. Be very regerus on going over or just flat out replace all the VAC lines. You have no PS or A/C so I asum you removed your BACV and or ABSV?
To time the engin you need a 2 stroke timing light. The stock timing is 0 split and L -5ATDC and T -20 ATDC

Oh allso you swaped 88 to a 86. A 86 is equiped with low impedince injectors and the 88 is high. So unless you swaped injectors between motors or swaped the motor harness as well from the 88 you have an injector issue that is ver bad.
