Timing on a 86 GXL
Hey there guys..quick question..where am I supposed to find the red/yellow marks to set the timing? I looked everywhere..but can't seem to find it. Also, which is my timing mark to go by? Thanks!

Damn, that motor looks like ****. That out of the way, they should be on your main pulley.... with all the rust you prolly can't see them... turn it by hand (breaker bar) and look for the grooves at least .. then re mark them with chalkor paint or crayon... then try again.

There is a pin right above the main pulley. The marks should be somewhere there. Err... you will be able to see 2 notches on the pulley when you actually point the timing gun on the pulley.

Yeah the engine's ugly, but I have some industry-strenght engine degreaser that I *borrowed* from a company that washes feightliner ship engines, so it should do some magic on it
