timing?

i have a 86 base that i just completed a rebuild on and am about to attempt to start it today.

i was looking in the Haynes manual about timing and it says line the yellow pulley mark up with the needle but my pulley does not have a yellow mark so how would i go about timing it?

would love a quick reply if i can!

If you are turning the E-shaft pulley clock-wise, the yellow mark is the first mark. In other words, when the two marks are close to the needle, it's the one to the right.

Good luck.

Steve.

The mark is probably faded. It will be a small notch in the pulley.
