i have a 86 gxl mods:racingbeat header road race, one cat,k&n filter,tb mod,msd spark plug wires,no a/c,89+intake manifold with the vdi not working it is wired open
what is wrong with my car. i don't think the 6 ports are working because the hose keeps coming off the air pump.and i think i have a vacuum leak.

With a reaction time of almost a full second at 2 points, I'd say you just can't drive... that and you're probably shifting too early. What RPM do you shift at? And how do you launch? Also, the 6th ports are vacuum actuated, so it sounds like the header/cat thig might have fucked with them...

I'm not very good with S4, so I'll let the others give you spacifics.

Also, were you granny shifting? And not double clutching like you should? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, I just remember reading about the VDI manifold swap. Unless the VDI works, you're actually looking at a DROP in power, over the stock S4. Just something to think about...

70000! WOAH! THAT'S HIGH!

7K is about right for a S4 ( If I remember right ) Appearantly your Tree system is different than ours. As a guess.... 6th ports are killing your times. And the VDI isn't helping. Fix those, and reach for the 15's LoL

Looks to me that run #2 you finally got a decent launch, but for some reason, you shut it down.

In all other cases, 2.4s isn't getting the job done. Focus on getting the launch, and the better times will come.

I don't know what your complaining about, in my damn TII I got a 16.1 or something. It is stock but thats wayyyyy too damn slow for it. That second run looks like you could have gotten a 16.1 or 16.2. If your aux. ports aren't working then don't bother worrying about these times.

Those times are embarasing...Im around 14.9 in my 89GXL... I beat a 15.3 runing car by 3.5 car lengths. Wire your 6th ports open. Get some stickier tires like those Nitto Drag radials and whach your times go down.

I would be a little concerned. You got a sweet 60' time in run #2. I ran my 16.3 with a 2.4 60' time, I wish I could pull 2.1's. Just more practice is my suggestion. And if times still dont get better, then I would start to look for a problem in the horsepower dept.

Your 60' times are inconsistent (as most have pointed out) - my advice is to practice and get them down under 2.2 - you did it on the 2nd run, but the misshift killed the ET.&nbsp You guys think it's so easy to go drag racing...

Reaction time doesn't matter in T/T. I agree with Ted, your 60's are kinda high. I don't think it's a car problem, more so of a inexperienced track driver kind of problem. How are you launching?

hmmmfff...

You people and your 15 second N/A's geez

You make my Turbo II feel like a slow POS.

Although I was pullin 15.3's last year, that was with fully clogged exhaust, and nothing done to the car yet.

Well this year I am saying Hello to the low 14's.

Nope...that was my Turbo II, it was only a week or 2 after I had bought....bad experience, everyone was laughing at me

Then I pulled off my 15.337 and people were still laughing at me....

They expected my car to be like Jack's...12.9s FD =/

Well soon mine will be a 13-14s FC, but that is as fast as I want it to be.
