i've been running 15W40 more often because most of the conventional motor oils have been slowly decreasing the engine preserving additives over the last decade. it's a decent mid grade rating for these engines also. also not sure why but they are almost always cheaper as well which is another bonus.

anyone ever top mounted a second oil cooler to bring temps in check?

I've never heard of such a thing... But it's definitely an interesting idea. I have a TMIC and I've been wanting an FMIC for a while but I have not because of all the cooling issues people have with them. but if you had an FMIC, and a top mounted oil cooler with a TII hood...

as long as it got enough air flow I don't see why that wouldn't work. Unless the oil has trouble flowing up vertically? I would think it would be ok at 60psi but maybe not...

Should be fine if you run the cooler from a sandwich plate from the oil filter but still have the standard one in place as well. Dunno I'll have to try it unless someone can tell me definitively a reason it won't work
