Unhappy TII woes.

Im starting to think that it may be a good Idea to get rid of the ole TII. Its one problem after another lately. Nothing really serious, but very annoying. I have electrical problems out the *** that prevent me from any form of spirited driving, my sunroof is f'd, my shocks are totally useless, and to top it off, my turbo decided to start glowing after mild acceleration(short 5 psi sperts). The motor is at 150K miles, and even though it seems fine now, I imagine its going to bite the dust some time in the not so distant future. I can't afford a rebuild on top of the many other repairs it needs. I think its more trouble than its worth. I am looking into selling it and getting something that requires a little less cosmetic, and mechanical repair. The Ideal replacement would be another TII that is in perfect shape, but the chances of me finding that are slim. So I have been exploring my options and here are some of the cars I have been concidering.
87 Buick Grand National(regal t type).
Z31 Turbo
MR2 Turbo
I know the grand national and Z31 don't handle to good, but I honestly do not care, cause I don't plan on driving like a mad man on the streets anyways. I love the TII but mine in particular is a nightmare. I guess I wont be selling it on this forum!

ha. u think thats bad? i spent 30k on my friggin tII in the past 3yrs and i drove it for maybe 1 year tops. i could have bought a Mariah car by now but instead it has a new paintjob, tsw wheels, trashed interior, 4 guages, new ported motor, hks turbo(shitty and small), hks fmic, and a shitty exhasut, intake and fuel injectors and fuel pump. where the rest of the money went, i dont know. but i have all the reciepts though and i cry over it every time. on top of that i need new shox, springs, car stalls/hesitates and has drivability problems and the trany is starting to go i think. bumpiest ride i have ever been in and some idiot hit me yesterday too.

The rest of it went to dope right? Hell I can keep it to 25$ every 2 weeks. I feel your pain dude, thats a raw deal. I just want a better platform to build off of. My car has so many stupid issues that need to be fixed, and I cant buy any performance parts untill they are resolved. Im gonna sell my TII and drive my beater 280zx while I search for a mechanically sound TII.

So is this all OEM or are you running mods?

140K body / 25K engine on my 91' TII and the original wiring harness & OEM turbo are doing great.

I've got only the mods listed on my sig. Does not include any of the future mods. It peaks at 9-10 psi on a very cold day, but I rarely boost it that high since I dont have the proper fuel mods and the motor is old. I don't have the haltech because the other stupid problems are soaking up all of my money. I just want to mod a TII that is in better all around shape, and if I cant find a decent TII Ill get something else.

Well the Haltech would take care of almost all your electrical problems.. As for the engine about to go.. Well The cheapest car is always the one you own.. Buy a daily beater to drive & save money for a haltech & a new engine...

Im right there with you. I don't think that I could sell her though. I think that I am going to buy yet another car as a daily driver(already have a truck) and keep my seven for the track. Sorry to hear the troubles. I am deff going to go with the Haltec to get rid of all electrical prob, when I have the cash. for right now I need to work on keeping the quart of oil off the ground every day.
