Lightbulb TII transmission

Hi To all I want to know if exist any difference between the transmission of the Turbo II 1987-88 and the 1989-91?
If I have a S5 turbo engine I can put a 1988 Turbo II transmission? What flywheel I can use 1987-91 or 1989-91?
Thanks so much Best Regards Jose.

Interchangeable as long as you have the S4 TII transmission y-mount and crossmember.

Same flywheels, same mounting point save a S4 tranny mount is different than a S5's. So you'll need to stay in series for the tranny mount.

Only difference is the S5's 5th gear is a bit taller than a S4's.

You use whichever flywheel is balanced for your engine. There are 4 different mtx flywheels. S4 n/a and s4 Tii, they are balanced the same. Then there is s5 n/a and s5 tii, they are balanced the same. If you have an s5 engine and are putting on a tii trans use the s5 tii flywheel.

Update: I was referring to aftermarket (lightened steel/aluminum) flywheels.
