TII tranny sourcing?

So my friend is purchasing a early model miata and we're going to be changing it up to forced induction. Clearly everyone knows that their tranny's are a weak link. The FC TII tranny swap is a common step in beefing up the drivetrain, for such an application. Thus...

My question lies in the fact that certain model years of the Ford Ranger and Mazda B-series trucks also served the same transmission. Which certainly explains the ridiculously long throws the tranny has. So does anyone here actually know which model trucks? Not for a direct bolt in, but to source gears and synchros etc, cheaper.
