TII swap on a budget(under$2k)!!!!!

Ok people, first off this is for those like me who want to swap power into their car, or just want to be one of the few to have a turbo vert, for an affordable price.... The key ingredient in the swap is the engine, and its also the main factor in keeping this swap under $2k... If you cant find an ending for less than 1300, you can forgot about the $2k limit. Some of you may say damn, if I have 2k Ill still have 700 left if the engine is 1300, but as youll soon see, the engine is not everything.... now if you got some spare parts, that always helps some, if not alot... Ok you got your engine, now you need either a turboII hood, or a front mount.... I say with piping and everything, a front mount will cost a lil more than a TII hood, unless you buy a full IC kit which will be alot more than a TII hood... but I picked up a brand new saab FMIC for 145, and the piping will be made at my shop....
now if you bought the engine for 1100 like me, then thats already 1245 that I've used up, not bad... You will also need a fuel pump, you can pick up a walboro brand new for $85 on ebay...Thats 1330 hmm not bad... now, I ended up using my vert ecu and harness, which will plug right in... If you are like me and like cleanliness, then I suggest you pik up a k2rd block off kit for $35 shipped.... it will also facilitate in pluggin everything back in... ok so you got the FM,FP,block off kit, and engine for 1365... You still need, an exhaust, motor mounts(which you could use off of your old car, if in good condition), and thats about it....I would say a good custon 3" exhaust turbo-back should run you no more than $300. That leaves you with 1600, and all you need now is just to drop the motor in... but dont think you are done yet, you still need need all the misc ****, like vac hoses and fuel lines... But if you want, you can remove the solenoid rack, and the mess that comes with it.... all you need to do is plugup all lines on the manifold, and re-route your fuel lines, which just means running a longer hose..... O wait and forgot about the clutch, in my case I had already upgraded my clutch and since im running an n/a tranny, I just transplanted everything to the turbo motor... to get the car running, and a good upgrade if want, is to buy a bronze clutch, using stock pressure plate, I bought mine for 100, so I would say maybe 200, to be realistic... So far thats about 1800, and if you want, U could use a turbo ecu, with harness, should run about 100 for harness and 100 for ecu, so thatll be good to go, but I used my vert ecu and harness so that was sort of a freebie... IF you got that route, then that completes the Swap for under $2k( ok under, by just pennies).. my swap came out to be much cheaper but Im just basing this under the most realistic senario... Some numbers may be off but not by much maybe like $20 the most. So hope this was helpfull.. Ill do a write up with pics later on, as I get my swap underway, and Ill get a lil more specifib....

Thanks,
MArtin

Yeah, definatly get an upgraded disc, those damn stock N/a discs can't hold up very well to torque. They're also going to want a boost gauge (either stock or aftermarket), as well as the stock tII pressure(boost) sensor to go with it, this way you can make sure you don't forget to hook the wastegate up and hit 20psi and be like, DAMN DO I LOVE TURBO's *kerching!* I HATE TURBOS! Anywho, just my $.03
