Is a TII starter and NA starter the same?

I need a starter for my tII tranny. Can anyone tell me if the TII starter and NA starter are the same? Just wondering so I can pull a NA starter from the junk yard.

thanks

They are different. You might consider getting your old starter rebuilt. Atleast you know exactly what you have at that point. Thats what I did.

man iv been trying to get a starter for 2 weeks now for my 87 tII.... they had to special order it.

when it saw supposed to be here they said ohh man we talked to the people and they have to have one made at the factory.

so i went to autozone... they have one for 89.99... (40.00 cheaper than anywhere else)so i placed the order on thursday and it came today.
It was a 3rd gen starter in a box for a 2nd gen! holy hell the gods are against me i thought so i took it back and they found the error and are trying to fix it. I will have my starter on monday(been waiting 2 weeks now!).

So i came home today and put a fuel pump on my hotrod, I'v been putting it off. ok so i drove up to put gas in it, all happy and **** cuz its been parked for about a month due to weather and broke fuel pump.
ok so a pice of the pump arm was still in the timing chain housing and broke it! hahah no way! so now i have a broke rx7 AND a broke tbird parked on the street! i own 2 cars that dont run.

so when you say starter... i get all sad and want to run away flailing my arms crying like a little girl!

Thanks guys, unfortunately I don't have the old starter. I got this t2 tranny from the junk yard and someone already snatched the starter off of it.
