TII and rebuild or buy a TII already done?

I found a TII with 100k on engine. Thing is it don't run, could be bad engine, could be something else. I can get it rebuilt and running for 1500-4000 (depends on what's wrong with it).

Should I just hold my $5k and wait for a TII to come by or buy this TII and chance it? The TII is super clean.

Sorry to clog the forums with this. I just wanted your guys advice.

+1.

It all depends on your mechanical ability and budget though.

for 5k you could get a well modified Rx-7, instead of trying to make one that is stock work. look in the classified's.

just get the t2 and rebuild it. then if you have enough left over, do whatever mods you like.

Already looked in there. The only one I was interested in is pending a sale. I'm picky on color too.

It's easy for me to have the outside painted ( I can do it myself). But the interior is what I'm picky about.

Why did they have to make that ugly red interior!!

lol interior swap or dye it. once you own the car, you can do as you please with it.

too bad some people do untasteful things with their vehicles.

I'd say getting the car you're looking at now and rebuilding isn't a bad idea, assuming the price is pretty low. Even a car that's in good working order will probably still need a bunch of things sooner or later.

The red that everybody hates didn't look so terrible in the 80s. At least I thought it was OK. I do agree it hasn't aged well. Plus they often paired the red interior with the gold exterior which was a slightly odd combo. I actually dislike the blue interiors on the FC even more, maybe because it reminds me too much of my old '85 GLC.

What if I said I like your thinking

but if the t2 is clean by all means pick it up!

as long as the price is right

but if your looking for something black on black then look no further (actually look down a lil)

Heh!..I have to tell ya,this is Exactly What I went through.
I had a Grey Exterior/burgundy Interior N/A..
Wanna know WHAT I have now?...Black Exterior/BLUE interior TII..and it is the SAME car!
..Would I do it again?YES..can I?,.NO.(getting old at this game).
But, it is up to you really..you can get a car and overhaul it to what you want or Buy one that is already done. You and your wallet are in this one together,!!
