TII Question? (Map sensor vac line w/ restrictor pill)
TII Question? (Map sensor vac line w/ restrictor pill)
Hey guys,
My car is a 1987 TII. Question is... The Vacuum line that runs from the UIM to the Map sensor w/ the restrictor pill snapped today right in front of the pill when I just pulled it a little bit . I was wondering if that line has to be replaced w/ the same style line or can just be routed again w/ a regular vacuum line...? I am not sure what the restrictor pill does but I'm guessing it smooths out the pulses of air from the manifold so that the map sensor can read them...??? I'm not sure.
Can anyone give up some info on this if you have any? I would like to know if it can be ran w/ a regular vacuum line until Malloy is open again on Monday or if I will just have to wait it out.
I understand the method of going and trying it for myself but have no vacuum line right now. lol. And all of the parts stores are closed b/c of the holidays. Something just for the peace of mind of knowing until I can try for myself tomorrow if possible.
Thanks for your time.

Just go to the auto store and buy some vacuum hose of that size and shove the ORIFICE into the line a inch or so, then install that end on the manifold and the other end on the boost sensor.
yeah I know where they keep it. I usually just go in the back and cut it myself. They know me up there and I'll just cut a slit to remove the pill and push it in the new line. That should work just fine I would believe.
