TII problems please help

on my 88 tII when it is warming up the idle starts going up and down between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Also every once in a while when I redline the car it seems to lose all power at about 6500 rpm but it only does it every once in a while. please help me tII gurus

the bouncy idle during warm up is sometimes attributed to a bad or mis-adjusted TPS (throttle position sensor) underneath the intercooler. this "could" also affect your hesitation in the upper rpms'. when mine was bad it had a bouncy idle and also hesitated around 6500. if you do a search on "TPS" on this 2nd gen section, you'll find lots of info. good luck man

when my tps was bad, the car idled funny and cut out at 6200rpm every time. switched it ,now idles great and revs as high as I hold it.
