TII hood question

If i swap a TII into my n/a do i need the hood scoop? If the IC isn't cooling the air, how much would it affect HP on a stock turbo?

I wonder if it's illegal to drive without a hood in Texas? I'm almost done putting a 13bt into my gxl but don't have a TII hood, and i'm broke!

you will lose alot of power if the stock IC heat sinks and the ecu has to pull timing.

you can buy a 3inch FMIC on ebay for about 300 at the cheapest, its a full kit and it works pretty decent =]

you could also do what azdk said lol, just cut out a section on the hood and file it down make it look half way okay and run it untill you can find a hood. =]

I would think so.I mean the IC kinda just replaces the n/a intake manifold right?

you can craigslist an intercooler that would fit your need. You could also i believe make a side mount intercooler like the audi's have. If you could find mandrel bending places that would bend pipe..then no problem. Just make sure that the intercooler isnt too big or too small for application

and stop posting so many things!

the hood would hit your ic if you didn't cut it you're best bet is to pick up a tII hood and if it doesn't match your paint then deal. i found one in perfect condition for 175 on craigslist

Why waste money on a TII hood when you could go FMIC?

Some crazy guy around here did that to his FB...

I bought a $65 aluminum T2 hood off a buddy and gave him my old n/a hood to put back on his parts car. I didn't think it would shut right, but it did. So yes the n/a hood will clear (or atleast latch securely) on a car with a top mpunt. But like others say, for the money you'd spend on the hood, you could add around a hundred and have a decent front mount. That's what I'd be going for.
