TII, good or bad- Tech. Quest.

Question, I got my TII apart and am rebuilding. How would I know the condition of my turbo and if it has any damage? I've never driven it so....

Shaft play, back and forth should be non existance or very very little. Shaft play up and down should be 1mm or so, shouldn't be able to cotact the housing while you push it to the side and spin it. Visual look for caked oil (ie oil leak), inspect turbing and compressor wheel for damage.

Turbo rebuilds run for about $200-300. CHeck out turbocity.com for rebuild kits if yuo want to do it yourself.
