TII forsale

hello again. finally got the chance to talk to the people who are selling the TII that i want to buy. ive talked to the mother and the son, finally got to talk to the father. he said that the engine is "using water" what exactly could this mean? he says that he is taking it to a mechanic before he sales it.

It means that the water seals around the coolant passages (that keep water from getting into the rotor and burning with the gas) are broken. You will need to remove the engine from the car and rebuild it. I'm putting my engine back in today after I rebuilt it for the same problem. On the last 2 engines I've rebuilt that had this problem, I found that the metal that forms the channel for the coolant seal broke away(see pic below). That means the whole plate has to be replace. Rotary engines are not a solid block like piston engines, it is a series of plates stacked together.

It is the equivalent of a bad headgasket and/or cracked head in a rotary. It means youll need a rebuild soon, it'll only get worse.

Unless they guy just has a leak and isnt smart enough to find it...

i still need to look at the car. im hoping that its just a leak and not the seals. ill keep everyone posted.
