TII Coolant and Vacuum

Ok, so I found a TII exactly the layout I want for sale in my price range. The problem is it needs a little work. I am willing to put work into the car. I want to know if you guys can tell me how much I'd be looking to spend and if parts are fairly easy to acquire. I just need to get it up and running in about a month or so and I don't want to go completely broke doing so lol.

So he said, it's pouring coolant out of the block due to it missing the coolant crossover pipe. Does this make sense? And how much am I looking to spend to get replacement parts to fix that?

Also, he said it idles very high to a Vacuum leak. This makes sense to me and I don't think that would be an expensive fix, but I assume it would be pretty labour intense routing some of the hoses. Am I correct?

Thanks for all your help!

replacing the vacuum lines is no big deal. you can also remove a lot of crap under the hood to make it easier. the coolant thing might be a big problem. where specifically is the coolant leaking from? is there coolant in the combustion chamber? ive never heard of a coolant crossover pipe. this could be a simple hose needs replaced or the engine needs to be rebuilt.

Ok, now is that doing it yourself? Or having someone doing it for you. That seems pretty cheap to have someone do it for you.

to have someone do it for you. if its just a blown coolant seal you can re-use most of the parts of your engine. blowing an apex seal is a different story.

The crossover coolant line is an easy and cheap fix. Just pull the UIM, and you'll see the line running from the rear of the engine to the water pump. Or maybe the line isn't there and you need to cap off the coolant passages (again, easy fix)

Yea he said the line is not there. so i dont actually need the pipe then? I can just cap the ends, is that what your saying? If not where can purchase one of these pipes?

I guess just goto a local auto parts store and get the correct length of line that will fit. Or you could cap it. Make sure you get some beefy caps made especially for coolant. I used some that supposedly were for coolant and the one on my water pump burst after 3 weeks and left me stranded in a parking lot.

Don't think so. I don't even know why it's there. Do a little searching though and see what others think.
