...is there a way to seperate them without a special puller tool?

Trying to swap steering racks.

im talking about seperating them at the very end from the wheel itself. There is a nut on the top held in place by a cotter pin. I pulled the pin and loosened the nut, but it doesn't move. The manual says use a puller, but I'm trying to find a way to do it without the tool.

A two jaw bearing puller is cheap and makes this job a snap. Those ends are on tight!
