Simple quick question

I coudl probably answer this myself, i am just askin tho to be safe. DOnt wanna waste good redline oil... But you can fill it threw the shifter housing right/>

If I think I understand your question (can you fill the shifter housing with redline?) sure you can if you have some extra, but there is little advantage over a regular GL-5 oil.

But if your asking if you can fill the tranny through the shifter, NO you can not.

Sorry i was pretty tired that morning. You have to use other oil to fill the shifter area? Or whats the dilly, i'm kinda confused. The Haynes manual says fill with specified oil...i mean it doesn't talk about other oil here and where do put it

Are you wanting to fill the tranny throught the shifter hole, or put oil into the shifter? As far as I know, the only way to fill the tranny is through the tranny fluid fill hole on the driver's side of the tranny. Yes, there does need to be fluid in the shifter as well. Mazdatrix says to use 90W tranny/diff fluid int he shifter hole. About 1/2 cup should do it.

Okay, thanks Rico. Thats what i was wanting to know, the haynes manual is very brief on that subject.
