TID Mod(Not the commonly asked questions)

Okay, me and my friend are doing the TID mod tonight, and we got it all done, except for the pressure sensor that wires back into the TID, we looked at the little nipple, and their is an arrow pointing one way, and we are tyring to figure out which way the arrow is supposed to go in, towards the TID, or towards the hose that goes to the motor. One way on the nipple let's air through, and one way dosn't, is their a reason for this, and is it supposed to be like this?? Thanks, all help is much appreciated.

There should be two lines on a s4. The bypass valve (coming off the pipe directly above the turbo) and the oil filler vent.

If you are talking about the bypass valve, hook it up so the vac nipple is pointing towards the firewall.

Uhm... their is only two things being plumbed back into the TID on my car, the pressure release valve, and the other thing.. what does the bypass valve look like? The little nipple I am talking about is silver... and it has an arrow on it, i'd take a pic but i got no digi cam right now.

Are you referring to the little "hose" that plumbs into the TID? If its that one, it should release air into the TID which I believe means point the arrow into the TID. I will go out to my car and check for sure.

Otherwise, are you referring to the stock Pressure Relief Valve? (BOV). It also releases into the TID

I'm just confused because you said "wired" into the TID. Is it a hose, or a wire?

It routes back into the intake or TID. The silver thing is nothing more than a one way valve. Plumb it back into your TID and you sould be set.

A pressure release valve is the same thing as a bypass valve.

The silver nipple you are talking about is the vent coming from the oil filler neck. I just went outside to look at it and it just plugs into the TID. There is only 1 way to plug it in..... Silver nipple into the TID. It does not matter which way the arrow is pointed.

If you did not remove it from the factory line it doesnt matter which direction its pointed in. Yes, it should point towards the tid, in the factory tid the arrow is pointing towards the front of the car. What if you plummed it in the bottom of the tid? It would be pointing up, right? Thats what I meant.

This would've been a lot less confusing if everyone just called in by its most commonly used name: blow -off valve!

Dude, it's a one-way valve. That's why it has an arrow, to indicate its flow direction. One-way valves are put in for a specific reason, so it does matter which way it goes; in this case towards the TID.

BOV's vent to the atmosphere

omg did you read my last post? Here it is again.

If you did not remove it from the factory line it doesnt matter which direction its pointed in. Obviously, if you did not **** with it its in the right direction. A blow-off valve is a blow-off valve, whether it's recirculated or open-vented.

Your first post said "It does not matter which way the arrow is pointed." This is incorrect and I simply pointed that out.
