Unhappy Ticking Sound + Fuel Smell = Goodbye PD?

I just got my car up and running after all my finals. Took her out for a spin and everything is nice, was just cruzn around, then started doing some 120+mph runs as usual, then i start smelling fuel, so i think its my boys T2 since hes right next to me. After we depart i continue home and the smell continues and even intensifies. I opened the hood and hear a tick tick tick sound eminating from teh passenger side. IM like NO wtf!

So im like ****, i shut if off, let the car cool off for a bit, start it up and take her home. I get home shut her off and i smell it like i just did my FF and theres mad gas everywhere

Is that tick tick sound related to the pd?

i CHEcked the FF hose and there no leak, no leak up top either where the FF line goes into the left side of the block. I used Highpressure Fuel line J30r9 (SOMETHING LIKE THAT). So is there anything else that could give a gas smell on the right side (passenger side) of the engine besides the PD, or is it the friggin PD.

This sucks nuts, i need my car for sunday, i helped organize the Mazdaspeed Corral at Limerock to watch Grand Am (Speedsource RX-8's) and Speed World Challenge (Mazda 6's). I need to have my car there for sunday and monday (memorial day).

ANy hints, ima get cracking on it tomorrow morning as soon as theres some light out.

Thanks for your help in adavanced.

Despite the fact that the PD gets damaged (which mines failed 20+ years later), isnt it a better investment than a banjo bolt. Obviously the engineers at mazda konw a thing or two about fuel delivery than most of us. ?

yeah my pulsation damper is done. Today Rob and me took apart the UIM, gotta get a new UIM gasket and a hose that was in bad shape.

I'd say, banjo bolt, and aftermarket fpr. OR a marren PD.
