throwout bearing

who knows what the best throwout bearing is as far as durability. the first one broke about 4 months after i got the car and knocked 2 prongs off the pressure plate so i got a centerforce dual friction clutch, pressure plate and bearing and yesterday it just locked up so i have the squeeling again and can barely get it into first and it acts like i am shifting without a clutch when i shift cuz it will only go in at the same rpms it would if not using the clutch. i want to order one today to have it in this weekend and wanted to know peoples opinions on witch one they have had the most luck with. and can i use a different bearing with the centerforce clutch and pressure plate or is each companies different to fit that clutch setup. and info appreciated

all clutches made for the rx7 should use the same throwout bearing. the bearing should be fine if installed correctly. I got mine from mazdatrix. it is nachi brand, which is what comes stock i believe

Use the Mazda TII throwout bering. all of the other manufactures have this little tit on the front that wears away important parts. the TII is as heavy dudy as you can get. and it's pretty cheap. While your at it, you should replace the pilot bearing and seal too. they wear out too.

wouldn't kill you to replace the front and rear tranny seals, cheap and you're already at them. Lube everything really good. too much won't kill you, and make sure you use quality grease.

what else could make that noise and react like that if its not the throwout, what is the pilot bearing and what does it do if that could be it. the reason im so sure its the throwout is because it feels the same way my other one did when it locked up before it broke

might want to take a look at the pivot "ball" that the fork arm rotates on...my pressure plate died an early death because the pivot was so worn the fork arm/ throwout bearing would not hit the pressure plate square/ evenly. had to buy the "tranny front cover plate" to fix it. don't know if your turbo & might have a different setup, though...
