throttle plates not fully opening

I'm not sure if it was designed this way but I notice the inner secondary throttle plates are not fully “horizontal” at WOT, it’s got about 20% of play vs. the bottom primary plate.
Is there a way to adjust the linkage to open her up completely during wot?

I also noticed that today when I removed the secondary plates from my tb (left the shaft in for now). I'm not sure if you can adjust them, I couldn't find anyway...just yet anyway.

Were they not designed to go horizontal?

my secondaries have a little play, not 20% though. I bent the tab so they opened all the way. When you do this it makes the secondaries open earlier and it makes the accelerator very touchy. I bent it back.
Dont waste your time.

Did you try tightening up the Eccelerator cable? Not sure If the inner secondary throttle plates are acctuated w/ the cable.

I checked my secondary throttle plates and they were not opening soon enough according to the repair manual specs. I bent the tab (and added a washer so the linkage hit farther out on the tab) so they would open when the manual said to. They then opened all the way when the primary throttle was opened all the way. Yes it did make the throttle touchy. Step on it and it really wants to GO. I think that is a good thing. Doesn't take much getting used to but has a very quick throttle response.

If the secondary throttle plates are not opening all the way you are not getting all you can out of your engine.

are those the one's closest to the actual engine? there was a set closer to the intake, they have been removed though.

Any restriction in the intake will hold you back.

The throttle plates I am talking about are the ones that are closer to the engine (not the ones you took out). Just pull off the intake hose and look down the throttle body. With the primary plate full open the secondary plates should be full open too.

It is normal for a *slight* angle, but anything more is not normal.

FD's are notorious for having their secondary (not the AWS throttle plates on the manifold) throttle plates way off - more than 10-degrees.&nbsp I have "modded" a bunch of these FD ones, but I have never seen FC turbo TB's off like this...
