Throttle body mod-idle?

Me and my buddy are the proud new owners of an 87 NA 5spd. The previous owner has modified to the throttle body to make it more open, he referred to it as THE throttle body mod. A side effect of this seems to be that the car tends to die at idle.

Has anyone heard of this before? Is it related to the new throttle body? Is there something else to check? It tends to idle fine after its warm but will sometimes die after being driven hard then resting at a light.

Thanks all

Sounds like it's been hacked by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. There is no way to make the NA throttle body "more open".

If the car doesn't idle when it is cold, then the cold start cam and thermowax was removed. This is a modification that is very popular for some strange reason...Easy to reverse though by putting the appropriate parts back on the car.

Also, make sure the BAC is still there. For some even stranger reason, people remove the BAC. This removes the ability of the stock ECU to idle the car...
