Threading on exhaust hanger rod
http://imgur.com/gallery/CbEIm49
I need to replace the two B hangers (mid Y pipe) and noticed that the rod portion of the exhaust is threaded. I see that the replacement part has a hard portion on it: http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1992/Exhaust-Hangers/16330.html
Does that part get threaded in? What's the reason why this hanger is different than a standard hanger and could I use a standard hanger? I feel like the threading would just tear up a standard rubber hanger without that hard piece.
