Question For those with Haynes Manual, give a quick reply please!

I am going to buy a Haynes manual because it is a little cheaper than other manuals. Before I buy it, I am wondering if it covers a few things.

Such as:
- Power steering fluid change
- Radiator fluid change
- Brake fluid change
- Clutch Fluid change
- Rear end and tranny fuid change?

If they include these stuff, I would go buy it now.
If you want to tell me what other stuff they included in the manual, feel free to tell me!

yeah, it has all that.. if you're really in doubt about whether it has something you need or not, stop by your auto parts store and browse through it, they don't mind, and its' the best use of $15 on a car i've found...

Sweet. No reason not to buy that book for 13 bucks!

BTW, the haynes are all wrapped in seals, so I can't browse through them....

How are picture quality BTW?

Picture quality is O.K. You can tell what the things are but they're in black and white. It has just about anything you need to know. Sometimes it doesn't go into much detail on stuff but it does have a complete tear down and rebuild. I have it and like it very much. I suggest you buy it asap.

Was the tear down clear to understand? Do they have 6 ports cleaning and oil pump removal?

It doesn't mention anything about 6 port cleaning, but it does go thru oil pump removal and installation in the rebuild section. You should just go buy it, if you don't need it now you will probably need it later. The Haynes manual was the first thing I bought about my RX7. A staple for any Rx7 owner. GO BUY IT!

Not sure there is a real reason to bother with the Haynes manual. I got one long time ago when I got my first RX-7. However, since discovering this site and as a consequence the availability of the full FSMs on other sites, I never use the Haynes. You can access and/or read/print parts or all of the '88 FSM at Iluvmyrx7.com and ditto for the 89+ FSM at Fs3s.org. I barely qualify as a driveway mechanic but the FSMs have about everything I need. Save a few bucks and download what you need.

I have the Haynes Manual and am using the FSM's on the web as well. I find the Haynes useful as reading material and detailed background type info on my RX-7, but when it comes to troubleshooting I find the FSM clearer and more concise. There are however parts of the Haynes manual that you can see were lifted directly from the FSM. For $15 IMHO the Haynes is worth having.

Many libraries will have repair manuals. If you want to preview one you can check there (maybe make a copy of a page or two?). The online manuals are good as well. I personally have info from many different manuals.

you really don't need a manual for any of those things listed.
if you are looking for what are the recommended fluids (type/weight) just ask or ask when you go buy them.

The Haynes is worth it just for the photos. The info in the FSM leaves the Haynes behind, but some of those pictures (especially in the elcetronic copies) are terrible...
