I'll assume the rx4 is a typo and you meant RX-7, but other than that, no you shouldnt need to rebuild it that often *** long as its in good condition or the last rebuild was good, and you dont beat the **** out of it. If its an '86 that means its probably an N/A and those have been proven to be quite reliable if treated well and properly maintained.

to own... I hope your mechanically inclined or are good friends w/ a mechanic or at the very least have a fat wallet. its a 20 yr old car and you will need to replace things, or you will want to upgrade them anyway.

Parts arent too bad to get. mazdatrix.com is the best first stop for stock parts, GL finding them in yards though, and the aftermarket tends to be pricey because its an RX-7.

Fuel do a quick search and you can find a lightly modified sprited driven car in the low teens, to a stock N/A in the high 20's or even more

I've only had my '86 for a few months now, and have loved every minute of it. Its a blast to drive, its unique its a great car. Ive had to replace a few things and there are still more things to get worked on though so expect to do some work if you get it, and make sure you maintain it properly.

I did sooooo much research for a few months before I bought my car off of my friend, and I strongly suggest you do so too before you buy it. check out the FAQ's and stickies and read read read, then go check the car again, your bank account and prepare for a big commitment

162,000 miles on my 86 GXL. Original engine as far as I know. Still running like a champion, an NA champion, but still a champ
