Thinking about repainting my black fc red...

How it looks currently
I had the car repainted 7 years ago (originally silver) and unfortunately it was a pretty crap job; it flakes when you wash it, and scratches when you look at it. I've since retired it as my dd and picked up a 1.6 miata for that job. So im planning to repaint the car. I've become proficient at painting and so i will be doing it myself.
I feel like red will hide dirt and dings better, but black will look more classy.
I feel like the car calls too much attention to its self as it is and red may make that even worse.
So what do you guys think? Please post pics if you have them showcasing stock bodied fc's in either color.
thanks!

I've never found color to have much effect on the amount of "attention" the car attracts.
Never owned a yellow car though.
The best color for hiding dirt/dings was the battleship grey my 240Z was painted.

to me it sounds like you're not REALLY digging red. so i say keep it black, just focus on doing a high quality job this time, especially now that it's not your daily any more.
I personally love black cars.
My fc right now is red, but it is dull and crappy. I was thinking of repainting it black, but doing the jams and engine bay is just so much work.

black shows everything, dirt, dents etc. i like black, but i don't own a black car, and i don't wanna own a black car, too much work!
white hides everything, dents, dings, dirt. a significant portion of my Rx7's have been white.
silver, hides dirt even better than white.
metallic black, it just looks dirty, even when its clean.
red; i'm not really a red car guy, but i do like the S5 red.
yellow; yes please! i'll take two.
also have an Rx8 in winning blue, and that's a great color! especially in 2013, when every other car is some really boring grey.
grey, everyone loves it, but its boring.
