Lightbulb Things you can recommend that i do? make suggestions!

just a quick question, but is it necessary to pull out your oil injectors and clean them? I got the whole TB and manifold off already, so I might as well find some things to do while I get the FI's cleaned at cruizen...

Anything else I should do while I have that **** off? I've already got a few things in a list here

1)Clean TB
2)Clean up dynamic chamber and manifold
3)Replace all Vac lines
4)Block off EGR and ACV
5)Clean and check the BAC valve (again)
6)Get injectors cleaned

Do you guys recommend any other hoses, gaskets, etc that should be replaced while doing this? Im talking about little things that you can do without taking out the engine...

thx for your advice as always

brent

UIM Gasket
Check all the wiring

If you're willing to take off the LIM, you should get a new gasket for that. Also, take out your 5/6th port actuators, clean the sleeves, and make sure the actuators are working correctly (or at least get them so you think they will since you can't test this w/o driving).

^good ideas. thx

I drive the N/A, so when you say lower intake manifold, im not sure what you mean becuase my setup goes like this.

Throttle body>Dynamic chamber>Intake Manifold> engine block

at least from what I could tell that day, it was the block and nothing more.

As for the sleeves, should I just take the actuators off and the sleeves are inside the actuators? or are they in the block too?

thank you.

There's two intake manifolds. The UIM (upper intake manifold) is "sitting" on top of the engine. The UIM has the secondary fuel rail on it, and covers up the primary fuel rail. The LIM (lower intake manifold) is attached to the bottom of the UIM, and is on the passenger side of the engine block.

That might help.

It did, thanks. Sorry about that. I was actually planning on re-using my UIM gaskets and everything else for that matter.. they look perfect, and are stuck onto the parts still. No gouges or tearing.. should they still be replaced?...

what about the oil injectors, should I take em out and clean em, or is that not necessary?

If your gaskets managed to remain intact during seperation, you can just apply a thin film of RTV during reinstall to the exposed face, provided the other side of the gasket is firmly "stuck" to the other manifold. The first time I pulled the UIM, the UIM-to-LIM gasket managed to stay in one piece. The second time, not so lucky. Don't know why that is, seems kinda ***-backwards to me

If you do decide to tackle the oil metering nozzles, be extremely careful- the lines are very brittle in their old age, and will crack very easily, right at the nozzle nipple...Fair warning...

well you may want to premix??? just a thought I think I'm leaning toward this route being that I just found a place that has the bolts. Also you may want to go ahead and get new o rings and gromets. I just got all this for my tII and I believe for the uim gasket and all o rings and grommets it was in the neigbor hood of 35 bucks. Also you may want to replace your pd as the n/a are prone to leaking. I am just going to replace mine with a banjo bolt.

ps I think I goofed on getting the orings because I think cruzin performance puts new ones on there for you. Oh well you can never have to many orings, lol.

The PD is that bolt that attaches to the fuel rails of the upper and lower injectors right? I didn't **** with it, and it had NO signs of leakage when I checked it out after removal, im gonna leave it alone... But ****... the replacement seals are only a few bucks, I think I'll probably change em too.

this is turning into a a crazy huge job, but once its done my car will be running perfect (hopefully) and I won't have to do it again for a very long time.

This all started with the injector cleaning, thats all I wanted to do.. then came the above list, and now I think im gonna rebuild the OMP and get some new lines to the oil injectors as well. I don't want to run premix.. not now, its a hassle, and the day that I forget to bring 2 stroke oil with me and the gas station im at out in the middle of no where doesn't have any.. then im fucked. No biggie, as long as the OMP works and the injectors are clean, everything should be fine, oh yea, and as long as im running a non synthetic (jokes, im not trying to start anything!)

The PD is on the front (towards the fan) of the primary fuel rail (lower one, right near the engine block).

I have the same problem blackplague but I can tell my engine is going to love me for this! Also what you may want to do and I've thought about doing it is getting those stainless steal braided lines from ebay for like 100 bucks made for those 4 oil injector lines! Also while you are down there you can buy a set of the stainless steal oil cooler lines

Yea I was thinking of that... however $ is the issue

The braided OMP lines, I can find room for in my budget, but the oil cooler lines I'll have to wait a little bit. The cost of this can go through the roof if your not carefull! Im just replacing/repairing/cleaning the criticals at this point. Anything else, well I'll decide if im going to do it when I get there

thx for the advice.
