Things to look for when buying a high milage FC?
hey everyone! im looking at buying a higher milage FC -175kmiles -that was taken care of by an older man (first owner) and a rotary enthuisiest (spelling/second owner). the cars been repainted, but it looks straight to me. also the motor was rebuild 80k miles ago (na motor). what are some things that i should look for when it comes to repairing the car up to par condition? do things like brake master cyl/power steering pump fail/ U joints on the shaft? any advice on what to watch out for? thanks

i would look for compression numbers, also upon cold start look for smoke and note the color, it itz blue oil seals may be out, if itz white coolent seals may be on the way out, if none it should be good...

View the FAQ. Aaron Cake has long write ups on his site about this. I personaly used Aaron Cakes guid when purchasing my last FC. You would be surprised how much you forget to check at spur of the moment.
