Thing i can do to gain HP

Hey j.w what i can do to my car to get some hp with out adding a turbo and a estimate of the hp gain from each item. Im asking because i might junk the idea of putting the turbo in my car and also if i do put the turbo in i dont have to rely on the turbo only for the hp.

On a side note whats a better exhaust system borla or HKS, or what do u think is the best system for hp but also sound good 2? I think HKS is the better system.

Racingbeat's catback system. It has a deep tone; not ricey.

Full RB exhaust FTW. Good low-end gains and amazing sound. Quiet during normal driving but loud when you stomp the gas.
My current setup: RB cat-replacement pipe, RB pre-silencer, RB Y-Pipe, RB TII mufflers
Lovin' it.

ok. im up late so here it goes.

full standalone WILL make a big difference.

fuel system upgrade. if you want to really get into it think about a better flow
delivery system like bored out fuel rails.

better intake system. you could include some type of ram air intake if you wanted.

upgraded ignition (add boxes. coils. wires. stick with NGK plugs.)

full exhaust. good headers, high flow everything else. you could make this all yourself to save a little cash.

and last but not least, engine porting. for a street car or dd nothing past a street port otherwise you'll loose mileage and possibly braek local laws.

thats most the main engine things. after that its trans, diff box and suspension.

i hate to discourage but unless you've had a lot of experience with engine building i would leave the porting to a professional. your engine will most likely last longer that way.

There's a shop in town that is an authorized RB dealer so I got my exhaust from them. I was lucky because they had a used RB CR pipe and Pre-silencer which they sold to me cheap. All together with labour, it cost me $1200 Canadian. Worth every penny. Note that I got the T2 RB mufflers instead of the NA ones. They're a little less restrictive, tip is bigger, and sound is deeper. 100% Rice Free.
