Are these the correct wires to the alternator? (S4)
Car is an 87 TII...I'm just about done fixing all the jimmy rigged crap in the engine bay and now I've run into this small issue. There are various plugs that have been cut off and crimped back on (I want to get it running first then I'll consider replacing the whole harness) and the last one I'm trying to figure out goes to the alternator.
I'm not sure if they're the correct wires, as the plug has 12 gauge wiring and the harness has about 16. I'll let the pictures do the talking:
Harness:
Plug that was wired to the harness (It literally fell off when I was doing the vacuum hoses):
So I'm asking, does this seem right? Obviously the ghetto wiring on that plug is wrong, but should I go ahead and solder it to the harness? I know the wires right off of the plug look like the same color as the wires to the harness, but they look like they're different sizes in person. The car made it from Socal to Norcal, but ran rough and hesitated in a ton of different rpm spots...just trying to fix everything to be safe and oem.
