the couge in the first pic is almost a mm deep in an area, the scoring in the second and 4th pic are about half a mm, the metal siding in pic 3 is busted out completely, and the gouge outlined in red in pic 4 is almost a mm deep....i cannot believe this engine was STILL running when i took it out....holy hell

dude... i dont know. i have just been drivin it like i normaly do...it had 60k on a rebuild. no hard beating really, just the occaisional redline. it has only over heated once or twice but was fine afterwards...LOL i still cant believe this is what i saw when i cracked it open.

so if there maybe like 1mm wide scoring like .3mm deep around the outside wall of the rotar housing, is it bad? good example is in pic #4

Nice paper weights

I'd find other housings and irons if I were you. Even if the gouges appear to be removable with scuffing, I'd say its a "better safe than sorry" situation. Don't want to go through this again in 10,000kms.

i agree, i emailed kevin from RR and he said he could give me a set of cerment housing for like 800 and like 100 for both irons...seems like a good deal. the rotars are accually in really good conidtion...the seals that came out were...HAHA-WOW-yeah..half of the interior corner seals were GONE i diddnt even pull half of them out, but there usually soft right? well anyways i can reuse the rotars.which is good news.

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. i have about 9 weeks to finish this project, thats when summer starts and i have to start using my car.

No offense, but that doesn't look like "fine" to me. Seriously, though, one overheat can kill a rotary, though that is a bit extreme. I assume the housings were already used when it was rebuilt?

I like your animations. I had the same crack in my front iron. My car was shooting black smoke out of it.
