im going to buy one of those. i think it will work better than what i have now. im not sure whats happening but it doesnt seem to be working anymore. my car got to about halfway up the gauge so i ended up getting out and pulling the connector off that thermoswitch...probably a better idea just to use the summit racing one.

This will work ok? It says it is the probe only. Does the prob have a temp. adjuster on it?

I'm fairly sure it's the probe and thermostat. I ordered one several years ago.

I think they may have raised their prices. It seems the cheapest they have is $45. Still a good price and im in nj and they are in ny. Might be my best bet right now. Sorry for jacking this thread.

*edit: further reading shows that the one sr swap has comes with a hose mount probe. Are these accurate enough? Where should it be mounted? On the top Rad. hose close the the block?
Here is a link to their cooling section. http://www.srswap.com/cooling.asp

after a bit of google searching....

http://www.midwayautosupply.com/deta...tion.asp?13189

ill post more if i come across any more deals. that one says it doesnt require a relay and can handle up to 16 amps. my relay is only a 10 amp relay so maybe thats a good solution?

At the minimum you need a 30A relay. The fan pulls 30-60A for a second or so on startup. Weaker relays will quickly burn out the contacts.

Im going to orderone of these becouse they are in texas and rjays is in cuba. So what i will do is have the thermoswitch turn on my 60a relay which will then turn on the fan. All to save a buck. Plus i have all the other parts just not the thermoswitch.Thanx for finding this matt.

Hey, I know this thread is pretty much dead, but for those that dont want to deal with the whole probe install on the summit control...try this, I have this setup with a relay. Its a cheap type, but it does the trick. My friend is using this on his N/A, hasnt had any probs and its adjustable.
