Thermostat Gasket

I've done the s5 TII swap. I need to know the placement of the gasket In the Thermostat. Is It on the Water Pump Housing first or on top of the Thermostat.

I think it's thermostat in first (should be a small groove that it sits into on the waterpump housing), then gasket over that, then the filler neck (don't forget the silicone stuff too, lol)

I've replaced mine twice..It's not a gasket, it an "O" ring. Correct?

Yes an O-Ring. My bad. I did notice a groove for this but not for the Water Pump Housing. Unless I didn't see It. Is the O-Ring above or below the Thermostat?

The oring goes around the thermostat! Thre should be a groove
around the thermostat that the oring forms to.

O-ring goes around the outside, the widest part of the
thermostat, middle, not top or bottom.
