Thermo Wax help
So I'm putting in my new TPS tomorrow (if all goes as planned) and would like to set it (and my idle) with the thermowax disabled, thus insuring that I'm doing it acurately.
The FSM manual won't tell me how to do this, and I'd like a few instructions, or help hints so I don't screw it up (as easy as it seems it should be) It just seems as if it's in a good location to accidently knock something off, or forget to put something back on
Thanks for your help.

Intercooler off. See the dash pot to the right. The two inch in dia, more or less gold in color, mounted on a bracket outfit? Just to the left of the dash pot(almost under the dashpot, but to the left) there is a screw. That screw adjusts the dashpot. What you want to do though, is to is to reach under the dashpot with your finger, and lift UP on the screw or the bracket it goes thru. If your engine was cold, you'll notice that the gap b/t the throttle stop screw(about two inches inboard of the fast idle screw) and the throttle lever has decreased. When you lifted up on the screw mentioned above, you seperated the cam from the roll pin and caused the throttle to return to where it will be when the engine is fully heated up. If you move the throttle say from idle to max and let go you'll have to repeat this process. I suggest a mirror and light to make sure the roll pin and the fast idle cam are seperated. Even better, mount the tps, get the engine HOT, and then check the cam is off the roll pin and then adjust the tps. Sorry, thats the best I can do on the description. Hot engine.......then adjust. Never check the setting unless the engine is HOT. Will give a wrong reading is luke warm or cold.
