Thermal wax operation.

If coolant is not flowing through the throttlebody will it cause the thermal wax unit to not contract. My idle is at 1600 with the idle adjustment screw in all the way. Recently I was changing all most of my hoses and relized that either the trhrottlebody or hose to the rear iron is plugged preventing any water flow. Could this be causing my high idle, also I believe that there might a small vacuum leak somewhere. I am going to heat my car up to operating temp pull the intercooler off and see if the throttles are closing all the way.

well coolant doesn't really flow through the throttle body, it flows through the valve stuck to the side of the throttle body.

and yes, if the coolant going to that valve does not warm, the valve will remain at cold temp position and increase the idle to around 1200-1500.

Never mind adjusted a different screw and brought it down it was hidden well. But there is a vac leak in the rats nest or around there cusing my idle to move around by a couple hundred. If I listen careully I can here a leak just start up and then my idle responds by rising hissing stops and it returns to normal. Like a responce circle. Meaning the vac leak is somewere on a line connected to a solenoid.
