Exclamation Thats why my car OVERHEATED....

After my motor finally gave and i opened her up i quickly realized it wasnt my radiator or my thermostat or the heater core being clogged or...not enough anti freez or water or air in the system...it was a blown water jacket =(
i couldnt tell because this was my first incounter with this situation. the symtoms were: swelling of the water pipes, (obviously) overheating, empty water system and major MAJOR overflow of the coolant resivour and that led to steam out of the resivour...not a pretty sight. hope this never happens to any of my brothers lol
o btw if anyone has another front plate laying around waiting for a quick sell pleasee p.m. me... ill keep everyone posted with my rebuild and come back if you want... thanks for looking and please put some input

****, I hope that's not going on in my car.

I have to add about a glass of water a day to my radiator. After a short drive and the car warms up it spits the water out the overflow and than it goes back in and the radiator needs water again.

The exhaust is sweetish smelling.

Everytime I see a pic of a blown coolant seal like that I think... if only Mazda had made the water passages a tiny bit smaller and left a little more material there this wouldn't happen.

Most likely just cracked but on it's way out for sure. Start saving up for a rebuild

There's a reason why all previous rotary engines had the seals in the rotor housing, and why Mazda has gone back to that setup in the RX-8.

^ Thanks Mazda
Same thing on my jspec iron. I guess that's a more common area for the iron to wear.
