testing aux ports on 91
Alrite, i searched and all i got was description..description...description on how the whole 6 ports work and thats great and all, but im suspecting that my ports are failing to open all the way because im not getting a very big kick at the higher RPMs + my poor quarter mile time is 'asking' me to check.
if theres no real easy way to check, how do you temp wire them open to make a test run around the block.
Do you have to take off the upper manifold to get to the ports and vdi?
HOW-TO's PLEASE..not system description..
Jeff

You shouldnt have to wire them open.
Simply remove the dashpots and see if they turn freely.
If not, remove the intake system doen to the block and clean it.
re-gasket and re-hose everything you remove.
do not re-use ANY vaccum lines.
If they are hard, they will collectivly cause a massive vaccum leak.
use carb cleaner and a paint can of cleaner from the parts store(they sell it with a dipping basket) to do the job.
might as well have injectors cleaned and re - rubered too.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
To check and see if they move by themselves. locate the vacuum solenoids on top of the vacuum rack above the CAS. Seems like the front one out of 2 controls the 6pi, the rear one the VDI. Take off the supply hose coming out of the soldnoid and use either a vacuum pump that can apply positive pressure, or a compressed air source, applky about 2-3psi, and see if they move. Should be fully open within 1 seconds of applying 2psi.
Same for the VDI valve. Check that as well.
