Tell me what to check, what to do first
Just purchased a 88 RX7 TurboII and wanted to know what to look at and where to start making more power.
I believe it already has an exhause. (the previous owner told me and it looks too big for factory) Before I begin moddin what should I check for reliability. It idles wierd (hi then low) He said he had it diagnosed as needing new injectors.
I do notice the hessitation around 4K when the injectors switch from dual to quad.
It passed smog. It get around 15mpg and it seems strongest from 4k to 5.5k on the tach.
Q1 where would a FCD be (i am not sure if it has one)
Q2 How much for Mazda to check compression or is it easy to self do
Q3. What should I mod first.
I would like to get around 300hp (close at least) and around low 13 ET.
Give me your advice. Thanks

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOT THE EXHAUST FROM THE TURBO BACK, AND YOU HAVE EITHER A HIGH FLOW CAT OR NO CATS, BUT WITH NO CATS YOU WONT PASS EMIS.

YEA, BUT YOU STILL COULD HAVE A VACUME LEAK

THATS NOT GREAT FOR STOCK.
MINE IS MODED A LITTLE AND I GET ABOUT 20

ON THE PASS SIDE FRONT FENDER IN THE ENGINE BAY, IT WOULD ATTACH TO THE STOCK BOOST SENSOR,

FUELPUMP,
INTAKE,
REMOVE SOME STUFF,
FRONT MOUNT IC
TURBO UPGRADE,

SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON IT,
JUST MAKE SURE TO KEEP PROPER A/F RATIOS.
