Tell me how much longer my engine has by looking at my smoke video.
This video was taken before I went to work...
It was actually one of the least amounts of smoke I've seen come out of it.
Usually worse when it is warmed up.

Sorry about my little camera man screaming stupid stuff.

almost looks like a coolant seal?? if its a coolant seal your doing alot of damage inside the motor.. the coolant flushes away all the lubrication and will slowly due some extensive wear on the housings....
if its oil id say it really dont matter just keep an eye on your oil level

lol... "Just shut up and hold it!!!"
Missing any coolant from the engine? It does look like a coolant seal. Check coolant while running and see if you see any bubbles in it.

I was just curious if you guys had any idea if all the smoke is caused by coolant/oil.
I haven't had time to remove my spark plugs and replace them... again.

Sounds like you have a winter project. Pull the motor before it gets too cold. Looks like coolant smoke, just because it seems to disappate quickly and seems white rather than blue. What does the smoke smell like? Coolant tends to smell sort of sweet, yet acrid, while oil obviously smells like burnt oil - I've never seen or heard of a rotary burning oil like what you're seeing, however (not to say it doesn't happen). Unlike in a piston engine, where bad rings or valve guides/seals can let a lot of oil into the combustion chamber, rotaries meter the oil in, so it's not likely to have more burning regardless of how bad the compression or coolant leaks are.

re you wanting to know how much longer it will get you to work before it just stops running altogether?
I want to keep it so badly, but I know it'll be easier to sell if the buyer can drive it instead of haul it somewhere.
If I can save up the money at work before it finally dies to rebuild/buy a new engine then I'd love to keep it..
I've been raping my brain to try and figure out what I want to do with it.

I found a s4 keg here on the forum I think I'm going to buy and throw in.
I don't have an engine harness so I've got to try and find one of those before I buy something i CAN'T put in.

the engine won't stop running until it totally loses compression, or seizes.
the longer you drive it, the less your chance of being able to reuse parts from that engine, and the more it will cost to rebuild.
take it off the road now instead of risking being stranded somewhere.

But..... I'm starting to think I should do the responsible thing and sell it to someone that can actually pay to get another engine or rebuild it.
I'm sure I'll find another fc sooner or later.
