Depends on how much it decreases the shocks stroke. You could have the potentilal of prematurely blowing your shocks or making them leak.

^^ Yeah I agree. An inch isnt enough for me!!!lol

But with just an inch lowering it shouldnt be too bad. I do suggest getting short stroke shocks..... hell just get coilovers. Saves time and money and most nowadays are fully adjustable.

Maybe he is on a budget. PM auto RnD for prices on some tokico blues. I just did and got a really good deal. Comes to $460 for tokicos and tein springs, have the price of any coilover ad probably a better ride.

^^yes they are. honestly if you are doing springs and shocks you should be ok. But while your down there i would check the bushings and all other components and replace what you need to.

Be aware that they give less room than stock up front, so if your wheel and tire combo barely clears now, it won't clear after.

Your stock shocks are almost certainly dead or quite weak. It'd be a good idea to replace the shocks while your at it, since you have to take it all apart anyway. It'll save you the effort of doing it twice. Also be sure to inspect the top mounts, the bushings, the ball joints and so on while your in there and replace things that are worn.

honestly if it looks like its broken or going to break replace it. Look into an energy suspension master bushing kit.

I've personally installed the Eibach Pro Kit with stock struts on my friends fc and, on another fc, Tein springs with stock struts. I've autocrossed both cars and will say the Eibach Pro Kit was way better.

Springs and shocks arent worth the money when compared to coilovers.

I have Teins with KYB adjustable struts... they work good, the ajustability is really noticeable too.

Black91n/a Be aware that they give less room than stock up front, so if your wheel and tire combo barely clears now, it won't clear after.
Listen to this... my stock wheel/tire setup rubbed the paint off the front springs... but not enough to even worry about it twice.

This is the stance... I can get some pics of the spring clearance tomorow if you like.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet: Do not cut the springs. Sure it's cheap, but it also is not a good thing to do. What some hot rodders do to get the drop they want is temper the spring and compress it until it's cool (temperature). I do not recommend any of those as it alters the spring rate.
