TECH HELP NEEDED - rebuilt 91TII
TECH HELP NEEDED - rebuilt 91TII
To make things short, I'll explain what iv'e done to it and what I could use some help with. I'll apreciate every bit of advice since its my first rebuild, and the car had major issues before that - past owner hacked the whole system:
-The engine is fresh rebuilt w/ street port. Only a few hundred miles put on if at all, because i'm having trouble breaking it in:
-I am having vacum problems, and I don't know how to fix that. what do i check? anywhere i can see pictures would help
-I have an exhaust leak.what will that affect me on breaking it in?
-I purchased a set of blockoff plates, but i need pictures to know where to block and what
------------>
so that's what i've noticed that's not right.
We set the timing high to get that ting cracking, but I am naive on timing so i don't want to re-time it myself - how do i do it?
when it cranks (it takes forever - i gotta try so hard) the idle keeps itself around 4000rpm (bad for fresh rebuild) and just stays there gradually climbing a bit. thats why i kill the engine - dont wanna screw it up.
is the timing the reason why its doing that?
I fixed grounding problems (now the sucker's grounded like hell). so i know the ground is fine.
I took the clutch fan off and now its running on two 10" electric fans, but i haven't wired them in yet (I tried today but i fried 3 wired - i'm doing something wrong. - I'll post a picture of the diagram in a minute.
If anyone can give me advice w/ the vacum and block off plates, then I can drive it untill it breaks in and make things easier.
I know i have to fix the exhaust problem (thats about 800 bucks) and get a new turbo cuz its leaking - not bad but very little (thats another 500 bucks)
and I saw a leak on the bottom of the car today that scared me - i couldnt see very well cuz its night time, but it seems the leak is FUEL and its coming somewhere under the engine - it was not doing that before.
So thanks in advace. any tip will help. I thought on setting the damn thing on fire,parting it out, selling it, but I don't give up on a proyect.
