tec questions

ok i just finnished doing a auto to 5 speed conversion on my 89 GXL. and the gass is still prity good, i did drain about a gallon out to check it. but when i start it up it runs rough at first then smoothes out and has a eratic idle as if it had a vacume leak. (i did plug the old line that went to the auto trans) the idle will clear up as long as i keep the clutch dissengaged. when in nutral and i engauge the clutch i can feel a little vibration and hear the gears in the trans turning ( i dont know if thats normal on these cars or what. (i filled the trans with the designated weight gear lube)

o ya and i put a RB aluminum flywheel on it.

i havent got to take it for a test drive cuz i have a leak some where in the hydrolic clutch system that i have to find. i think it might be my master.

if you have any ideas why its doing thouse things plz let me know. Thanks.

this time it started and ran but went right into the eratic idle, at about 1500 rpm idle and it revs up about 100 rpm over and over. i rolled around in 1st and reverse and it seems to have no prob. except the strange noise and small vibration when i relise the clutch. : /

nice link thanks. kind of enforces my suspisions that its the throw out bearing. i talked to a mecanic and it sounded like the throw out bearing is only half way on the fork, so its only pushing on one side of the pressure plate and binding, which is y the peddle sticks to the floor for no reason. so i guess im tearing my car back apart : (
