Taurus e-fan installation. Mounting.

For those who are using the taurus e-fan, any suggestions for mounting it? Or pictures of it mounted?

The shroud almost completely matches the radiator. And, a bolt hole on the right side (facing rear) lines right up with a stock bolt hole. So, I am thinking of using the stock mounting spot for that one and then check the others. I was also thinking about using zip tie type things that go straight through the radiator and are tied using a flat piece of plastic.

Also, I got a fan thermo switch that has a probe that goes through the radiator. Should i return this and try to get one that i drill / tap, or do you think the probe is enough? Which of the radiator pipes has the fluid from the engine coming in....? I was looking at the water pump and trying to think if the fluid come from the top to the bottom, or from the bottom to the top.

Thanks guys!

The "hot" side of the radiator is the upper hose.

I had one of those adjustable probe triggers for a while and did not like the hysteresis (i.e., it would reliably kick in at "x" temp but not turn off consistently).
It sat for about a year and I just installed it in another project where it's working perfectly...go figure.

It's pretty easy to make some simple brackets to hold the fan, a much better option IMO than hanging it from the core with those "zip tie" type mounts.

yea, was thinking about creating brackets. Any suggestions for metal type? I don't have a lot of metal working stuff, I have a good drill.

Thanks for the quick response!

It mounts really well, I don't even think I created brackets. I'll try to post pics later. But yeah it covers like the whole radiator.

I had an issue where the e-fan fits real snug on the bottom drivers side of the car. Kinda bent some fins. I ground it down a little but just a heads up.

Hey guys! I'll post some pictures of my setup.

I bolted it on the right (facing rear) using a normal bolt spot. Then, created a bracket for the left side. The left side bracket was some aluminum 1/4 inch thick i think, bought from Lowes. Bent it so that one end hooked around to the front of the radiator, and hooked into the little groove on the radiator.

I'll take pictures. But, I guessed right, my stock fan was never turning off. So, my car never got above 1/4 the temp range. Always just sat slightly above cold.

I can finally get heat! Thought at first that is was my logicon going bad.
